What is Canine Good Citizen ?
The Canine Good Citizen Program was started by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in
1989. It's goal is to reward dogs of any breed or combination of breeds that exhibit
good manners both at home and in public. This program stresses Responsible Pet Ownership
as well as Basic Good Manners on the part of the dog. There is no age limit for dogs taking
the CGC test. The tests are evaluated on a "Pass" or "Needs more work" basis.
